What a sweet and kind woman Maliha was! I spent time with her only once, though I heard about her extraordinary generosity and loving care toward others many times from my husband, a Scrabble friend of hers who saw her frequently and worked on some projects with her. That one time meeting her was enough to make a permanent impression on me. Her creativity, her expansive way of thinking and feeling, her love that spread over everyone, her humor and goodwill. If we had a planet made of Malihas, there would be no problems in this world. I think of her often and plan to live model my life more closely to how she lived hers. That would be the best way to thank and honor this lovely and much-missed woman.

May choirs of angels welcome Maliha and lead her to the bosom of Abraham; and where Lazarus is poor no longer may Maliha find eternal rest. Whoever believes in me, even though that person die, shall live. I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever lives and believes in me shall never die."
