Baba it's been a while since I’ve been on here and posted something. I was sent a photo of you and Sinan a while back and wanted to share it. Inshalla you guys are together Allah yirham both of you) and I know you’re laughing up a storm and watching over us all. So Olivia wanted to let you know we’re always thinking of you, especially this time of the year. We recently repotted your succulent plant you had. I’ve had it for 7 years now since Lulu gave it to me and it’s growing like crazy I’m proud of my “gardening”! jk. Well Olivia helped put it into a bigger pot and need to get an even bigger one now! Happy early birthday I’ll be back tomorrow. Love you and miss you so very much.

Almost 2 years

The hole can't be filled, not with lipservice, not with empty mechanical prayers, not with fantasies geared at assuaging what has been lost. I miss my father, the hero

Your Courage
My love for you is sacred and not something I wish to place in a public forum; however, I would scream my admiration for you from the rooftops. Not a day passes without us missing you. Your strength and wisdom in choosing unconditional love for your children over dogma and societal expectations is the paradigm of honor. The courage and fortitude it took for you to hold to your convictions in regards to humanity and compassion is a lesson many lack the discipline to follow. You are an inspiration. We share memories of you daily. Your grandchildren write stories and draw pictures of you for school assignments. Your warm-hearted nature positively impacted those of us privileged to know you is more profound than that which can be articulated. I am honored and privileged to call you my Father

The first time

The first time i met Amir, he picked us up at the airport and i was greeted with the greatest of hospitality. He took us to his house and imediately proceeded to stuff us with some great arabic cuisine and then we had some drinks and numerous cigarettes and he talked with me like we were friends for ages. He was a very warm and compassionate person with a huge hart. He was also a very passionate man with strong convictions that loved his grandchildren with all his heart. Rest in Peace Sir.

It was an honor to call you my father, It was a blessing for Raiyah and Maximilian to have you for a grandfather. Words cannot articulate how much you are missed, or what I would give to have you back, to laugh with you again, to share stories, to watch you play with your grandchildren. The world has lost an incredibly loving, hardworking and honorable man. A son, a brother, a husband, a father, and a grandfather... I only wish you understood the amazing gift you were to those around you. All my love, Lulu
