Obituary of Joanne Marie "Nightingale" Frankel

Joanne passed away peacefully with her family, close friends, and loving dogs around her at her home in Anaheim, CA. She was predeceased by her father Joe Nightingale, her mother Anne C. Nightingale, her husband Stephen, her friend Rochelle, and her sister Susan (John). Joanne is survived by her brother Jim (Helen), daughters Carey (Gary), and Candace, and grandchildren Gary, Jesse, and Joanne. She is also survived by her nephews Martin and Cameron and dogs Fluffy and Shaggy. Joanne was a respected woman in her community. An expert in tax law, Joanne ran her own accounting firm for the past thirty plus years. Graduating with honors in accounting from Cal State Fullerton and a member of the Mensa Society, Joanne always had a thirst for knowledge; attending many seminars and researching all areas in tax to be the vary best at what she did. Not only was she a well of knowledge to her clients, she lived through them. She always looked forward to the three months out of the year where she got to sit down with "her friends" and discuss their personal lives as well as business ventures and travels. Joanne spent most of her free time at her home with her loving daughter Candace, grandsons Gary and Jesse and her dogs. She loved assisting in Candace's education as well as raising her two grandsons. She cherished her family and was also deeply interested in her many hobbies consisting of stamp, coin and art collecting, reading, watching sports, online gambling, poker, stock trading, historical research, and genealogy. Memorial services will be held on September 2nd at 4 pm at Laguna Woods Village, Clubhouse 2, Gate 12, 24112 Molton Parkway, Laguna Woods 92637.
