I remember Grandpa Fred always quizzing me in math facts, from addition to times tables. He always encouraged me to work hard to be quick and smart.
He would sit me down in his office at the house on Olive and Sycamore and tell me the history of our ancestors and family.
I’ll always connect The Godfather part 1 with Grandpa. He had it playing on repeat in the front room at the Elsinore house.
Whenever people talk about old Disneyland I add that my Grandpa worked there the year it opened which was also the year my dad, Fern, was born, 1955! Grandpa worked at a hat booth!
I’ll never forget the joy he expressed when his grandchildren and great grandchildren visited him. We would sit on his lap out by the rocks and watch the sunset. He would smile ear to ear when he had the opportunity to hold my babies, especially when he could make them smile or giggle. He really was a wonderful Grandpa!
