Obituary of Dharmistha Patel

Dharmistha Patel, age 69, was a lively woman with a big heart. She passed on the morning of January 9, 2023 and is looking down upon us all from Akshardham. A beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, friend, and satsangi-she always greeted anyone she met with a warm smile on her face. Her energy, spirit, and laughter was contagious, and her mere presence always filled the room with light. Dharmistha Patel was a staunch devotee and dedicated her life to seva at the BAPS Shree Swaminarayan Mandir in Africa, India, and the United States. Her devotion was inspiring to all. She encouraged her sons, daughters, grandchildren, and relatives to always remember that Bhagwan is with us-and to never forget that. She spent her days reading religious texts and studying for the Satsang Exams, which she passed with flying colors. To this day, she proudly displays her Satsang Exam medal and certificate. Her investment in the lives of those around her was her way of expressing love and concern for all. Her happiness lied in the happiness of others. She had so much to give and selflessly lived a fulfilling life. Dharmistha Patel will never be forgotten, and her presence will always be felt among us. Dharmistha Patel is survived by her son Parag Patel and daughter-in-law Alpa Patel, daughter Deepa Desai, and son-in-law Deval Desai, granddaughters Hina Patel, Gia Patel, and Shrena Desai, siblings Sudha Patel and Suresh Desai, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and relatives.
