Obituary of Mildred Louise Jones

Melrose Abbey Memorial is honored to serve the family and celebrate the life of Mildred Jones... Mildred Louise Jones, age 93, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2021. She was born on March 23, 1928 in Tom, Oklahoma to Rube and Elva (Wright) Purtell. She married her high school sweetheart, Jack Jones, on December 15, 1946 and moved to Anaheim, CA in 1947. She was predeceased by her husband of 70 years, Jack D Jones, granddaughter, Melinda Van Wormer, sister, Ruth Kinney and granddaughter in law, Amanda Gordon. Survived by daughters, Linda Van Wormer(David) and Jacquelyn Holt(Randy). Granddaughters, Melissa Gordon(Ken), Meridith and Caitlin Van Wormer and Hayley Winans(Kyle). Great grandsons, Cheyne(Kristen) and Jeremy(Robyn) Gordon and Jack Winans. Great great grandchildren, Kendall, Jonah and Kylie Gordon. Her beloved niece, Cheryl Koniuszy(Ted) of Troy, Illinois, sisters and brothers in law, Pat Jones (Fran), Pauline Benson(Dan), Katheryn Owen of Comanche Oklahoma, and many nephews and nieces. Mildred was a homemaker. She kept an immaculate home, loved to cook, sew and quilt. She enjoyed gardening, crafting projects and hosting family gatherings. Her family was her greatest joy in life. The sweet memories of our “Queen Bee”, Momma, Gramma, Auntie will live on in our hearts always….Love you Momma!
