Obituary of Daryl Brian Thompson
Daryl Brian Thompson was born in Los Angeles on August 30, 1946 and called Downey, California home. He graduated from Downey High School and the California State University, Long Beach where he received a Bachelor Degree in Political Science in 1971. Daryl Thompson answered his call to duty for this country where he served faithfully and heroically in the most difficult of times during the Vietnam War in the United States Army as a "buck-sergeant". For his heroism while in combat, Daryl was awarded the fourth-highest individual military award the Bronze Medal of Honor with a "V" for valor. Upon his honorable discharge from the Army, Daryl Thompson was admitted to and subsequently graduated from Western State College of Law. Daryl was admitted to the Bar in 1976 and practiced law until he passed away on April 20, 2014 with the love of his life at his side, as she has been for the past thirty years, Shirley. Daryl is survived by Shirley Ann Thompson, wife of thirty years; Courtney Iris Thompson, daughter; Mark LeBrun, Captain Jack Sparrow and Princess Fiona, his two dogs who provided him unconditional love and acceptance whether he won at trial or not; In-laws Ray and Rena Dube; Rae and Jim Dennis; Harry, Betty, Rebecca and Joseph Dube; and Judy and Mike Nickel. Memorial services to celebrate the life of Daryl Brian Thompson will be held: Wednesday, April 30, 2014 6:30 PM El Bekal Shrine Center 1320 S. Sanderson Ave. Anaheim, CA. 92806 Daryl fell in love with Hawaii and wanted to live there with Shirley. Within this spirit, Hawaiian attire encouraged.
