Obituary of Xuong Duyet Leung
Xuong Duyet Leung passed away on 7 March 2013 in the city of Orange, California, at the age of 88. He was born in Canton, China, the fourth of five children. He is survived by his wife, Helen Ly Leung, and his eight children: four sons - Nim Chi Leung, Fu Leung, Shawn Leung, Ryan Leung, and four daughters - Nui Luong, Steffanie Leung, Kristy Leung, Sharon Leung, and eleven grandchildren. He and Helen happily married for 65 years. Xuong Duyet Leung was a loving and caring husband, a responsible father, and a kind grandfather. He never raised his voice against his wife, children, and grand children. He infected everyone with his happy smiles and warm hospitality. He taught his children to love, to differentiate between right and wrong, to be kind, truthful, and generous. As a hard working tailor for 38 years, he provided support and led his family through the dark days of yesteryears during the Vietnam War, to brighter settlement in the United States 23 years ago. He lived a simple life, never stretched beyond his means, but always wanted the best for his beloved wife and children. He enjoyed Chinese foods, tailoring, cooking and gardening. He loved tendering his roses, lilies, herbal mints, feeding the birds gathering on his guava, apple, orange, pear, mango, peach, cherimoya, dragon fruit trees. His favorite flowers were roses, peach and cherry blossoms. Xuong Duyet Leung really lived life to its fullest. He treasured every breath he shared with his family. We all are very fortunate to have and know him as a husband, father, grandfather, and most of all, a best friend. Xuong Duyet Leung will be dearly missed. May His Soul Rest in Peace!
